C-drama Sites!

Hi,

Today I will introduce a couple sites I use to watch/get info about c-dramas.

Just a little general note about Eng subs:
The process can be a bit slow as these volunteers are taking time out of their busy lives to translate and add. Also, c-dramas don't have as much of an avid following as k-dramas/shows, which get subbed much quicker. Patience is virtue :)) although I admit that waiting gets tough for me as well

1. YouTube

Of course, my number 1 go-to place! In YouTube, many of the Chinese TV channels have their official YouTube channel where they post full episodes of the drama/show. Then, either they (or fansubbers) will add subtitles.

-Also, other Youtube fan channels usually upload episodes too (mostly raw, some are subbed personally or ripped off another's hard work)

My go-to channels are

YoYo Television
Tencent
Kukan Official
Youku
iQiyi

2. Viki

Is another good option: but is based on community subtitles so the dramas with a smaller fanbase take longer to sub. Many of my favorites aren't even licensed on here. But there are still c-dramas and they have recently started to license more c-variety shows as well which is great! You can request shows using this link

3. Soompi (threads)

If you search the name of a C-drama/show, the search result most likely already has a thread in the Soompi Mainland China forum. There, info about the show and making vids, ost, trailers are usually linked.

4. MyDramaList

Kind of like Soompi's threads but it's a pretty legit site to search up info about dramas and variety shows (mostly dramas). I use this site mostly to check out the cast members of a show or check the comments and see if people post links to subbed episodes!!

5. Drama Panda

This site I use to look at drama reviews and some recaps if I want a summary of an episode. Another type of site like this that does recaps is by Drama Beans- which is really awesome but I'm not sure if they recap c-dramas.

6. Maplestage

Maplestage is a site that posts raw episodes of c-dramas and shows. But it's in Chinese so you'll have to figure out your way in navigating the site- the search bar usually shows the top popular shows at the time.

7. Cdramasite.info
This site gives the Drama titles and summaries! Also, they list the cast name, air date, and link to the main leads' Weibo account(s) at times!

8. AsianCrush

New site that I found, has some recent shows (mostly old ones) that are subbed, they also post clips on YouTube.

9. Netflix

Last but not least, with a subscription or 1 month free trial you can see Netflix's selection of chinese dramas! They update this annually and you can also send licensing requests using this link.

As always, comment or contact if you have any questions or feedback! I hope this helps for your watching party 😄
